Tipperary Inn
The Tipperary Inn has been a landmark on the fringes of Lakewood at the junction of Live Oak and Skilman since 1994. It was remodeled in 2000 and now exhibits the interior of an authentic Irish pub to which people’s reaction is rarely one of indifference when entering for the first time. There are, in fact, two distinct “personalities” to the premises: the Tipperary Inn where key features include the absence of TVs and other distractions in a room where the character is created by an abundance of rich wood paneling accentuated by decorated glass panels and enhanced by soft lighting (particularly the very cozy “snugs”), McCarthy’s Bar which has a totally different “feel” with light wood fixtures and furniture.
