Good Enough to Eat - New York City
Best Breakfast - NYC
Guest Author: Jennifer Garcia-Alonso
If you are looking for a delicious, classic and even heart-warming (just makes you feel good!) breakfast in NYC, Good Enough to Eat on the Upper West Side is an excellent choice. The ambiance is welcoming and comfortably informal (think Vermont kitchen, with lots of cows…everywhere). The service is casual but impeccable. The menu is diverse but traditional- waffles, french toast, pancakes, and granola on the sweet side, and a variety of eggs, omelettes, corned beef or turkey hash and even a southern breakfast (scrambled eggs and biscuits covered in sausage gravy- yum!) on the salty side. Be prepared to pay about $15 per person.
While breakfast/brunch is served all day and is the known specialty, the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. You may want to avoid weekend mornings, when there is a long wait. But, you could chance it- and if the line is too long head to EJ’s or Sarabeth’s which are both just south on Amsterdam.
My special thanks to Jenn (aka Jennifer Garcia-Alonso), travel blogger at The Purple Passport for her great recommendation. You can follow her on twitter @Purplepassport
