Phantom of the Opera, as you’ve never seen it before. The Venetian Resort • Hotel • Casino is home to “Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular,” an all-newproduction of the most influential musical of all time.
Phantom at The Venetian reunites Andrew Lloyd Webber, director Hal Prince, choreographer Gillian Lynne and others from the show’s original creative team, who together reconceived their show into a 95-minute spectacular, including each and every song from the original production. From the moment you enter the magnificent custom-built theatre, you find yourself in the famed Paris Opera House immediately entranced in the Phantom’s world.
By incorporating special effects and enhancements made possible today by
modern technology into the timeless music and story of Phantom, new
audiences and loyal fans alike will be awed by and all-new Phantom.
In anticipation of opening Phantom for the first time ever in Las Vegas, The Venetian employed David Rockwell, one of the most renowned designers of today, to design the $40 million custom-built theatre. Rockwell’s legendary work includes the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and Nobu Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The unique theatre was designed to create an ongoing sense of anticipation with a layout that literally surrounds the audience in action.
The Phantom of the Opera has grossed more than $3 billion worldwide since its London premiere in 1986, having played more than 65,000 performances in 20 countries and 110 cities. After the Broadway opening, the musical went on to sweep the 1988 Tony Awards, winning seven Tonys, including Best Musical as well as seven Drama Desk Awards and three Outer Critics Circle Awards. In January 2006, it became the longest-running show in Broadway history, surpassing another of Webber’s greatest hits, Cats.
Now, with an expanded Broadway-caliber cast featuring veteran performer Brent Barrett, seen in the smash Broadway musicals Chicago and Annie Get Your Gun and Tony Award-winner Anthony Crivello, known for his roles on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman and Les Misérables sharing the title role, Phantom is once again poised to change the face of live theatre.
Come experience this truly unique production and a rare opportunity to
see a work of art reinvented some 20 years after it was created.
