My favorite in the Monterey Carmel area. – Lunch and a stroll at the Ventana Inn. They have an outdoor patio that overlooks the Pacific. Ventana Inn is a pricey resort and spa but you can experience the feel of it and the beautiful view of the Pacific with a very reasonably priced lunch on the patio. Then afterwards take the stroll on the path back toward the resort or up the hill behind the restaurant. If you can afford it, spend the night there for one of the most relaxing (and romantic) places on the coast.
