Shooting Gallery - San Francisco

Outsider Art Gallery San Francisco
The Shooting Gallery opened it’s doors in 2003 in the edgy Tenderloin area of San Francisco, a neighborhood known for it’s diverse culture and history. Owner and curator Justin Giarla, a native Californian, opened the space to create a comfortable and un-intimidating environment perfect for viewing art. An idea inspired by the stuffy, elitist gallery’s of downtown San Francisco. Art is for everyone, not just the wealthy.

I went to the opening on Saturday night and the paintings were extraordinary. There’s a Shakespearean theme. Some quite easy to get, like Romeo and Juliet, others that make you want to go home and read a play to get the clues. Thankfully for me, I have an actress niece who could school me on the things I didn’t pick up! ;^D
