Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to be a guest at The Lodge at Pebble Beach to enjoy the fabulous Casa Palmero Spa. They don’t advertise much, which makes it feel like a private club, but with a phone call you could book yourself into one of their super relaxation packages and let your cares disappear. My fave is the Red Flower Ritual - scrubbed with ginger and bamboo, polished with cherry blossom and rice and hydrated with rose, camelia and plum and finished with a massage using wild lime silk oil. The lounge areas for the spa are so beautiful that I could happily stay there all day, reading a book and napping in the sun like a cat. Don’t forget, if you have a spa session booked, when you come through the gates for the 17 Mile Drive, just tell them and they’ll wave you in without the normal fee.
