Lobster tacos and Firestone beer was the menu last week for a great, casual oceanfront lunch at The Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach. The Boathouse, formerly the Brown Pelican, is the newest venture of the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company family, which began on Stearn’s Wharf in 1980. It’s a little bit off the beaten path, set on a gorgeous mellow beach. While we ate, we admired a surfer taking a nap on his board 50 ft from shore. What a life!
Santa Barbara Shellfish also owns the FisHouse on Cabrillo.
