Lefty O’Doul’s – San Francisco
Piano Bar San Francisco
We went to Lefty’s last Saturday night. It was great and we were proud to perform as the Raelettes. Paul Dorr on the piano. *posted January 2006
Stacey and I were back to Lefty’s last month – as always, it was great. This time we sang Volare with piano man Frank O’Connor. *posted July 2008
After half an hour of wandering around downtown, looking for a causal place with food and alcohol that won’t charge us an arm and leg, we found ourselves at Lefty’s. It had an inviting and causal pub atmosphere. Dark wood and a bar filled with people, there is a piano in the front of the pub and there were plenty of people surrounding singing drunkenly and joyfully!
Pick up a tray, get your silverware and order your plate, Las Vegas-buffet-style. I ordered the roast beef dinner, which came with 2 sides, a salad and bread. I had mashed potatoes, veggies and the cucumber salad. All this for $9.89.
We sat ourselves at a booth and a server came by for our drink orders. Drinks are CHEAP! $5 for mixed drinks and they do not skimp on the alcohol either.
This place is definitely great for people watching, the servers themselves are interesting. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s definitely cozy and you can have a lot of fun here. I’m coming back!

Lefty’s is a fantastic experience and a bargain too! Great beer, drinks and food. If you stay for the piano bar, you’ll have an experience of a lifetime.
