Cucina Alessa – Newport Beach, California

Fantastic Italian Restaurant
I’m almost afraid to write a short review on this place for fear of having to wait for hours on end next time I go! Cucina Alessa is an Italian gem nestled on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach. This place has been a local success for years, but just recently it was renovated and revamped into my all-time favorite Italian restaurant in all of Orange County. The service is always warm and professional, and the ambiance is beautiful but casual as well. There are both inside and patio seating. The menu is very unique with flavorful dinner entrees that range from spaghetti with homemade meatballs to a veal Marsala that is to-die-for. Sauces, doughs, breads and soups are all made fresh daily. The wine list is great; it welcomes all tastes and budgets and is among the best selection I have seen. Alessandro and his servers know food and wine pairings as well as anyone and are always very friendly and willing to give great recommendations, no matter your taste. The only downfall of this place is the parking space as this restaurant is almost always packed- especially for dinner. Be sure to call ahead to make a reservation (although they say they don’t take them, you can usually ask the hosts to save a space for you and they’ll do what they can to help)! You won’t be disappointed! Oh, and be sure to ask for Nikki- all of the servers are wonderful, but she’s definitely my favorite!!
My special thanks to my guest host Sarah Hudson of Huddy Design – when you need web design, logos or such, be sure to call her. And follow her on twitter @HuddyDesign
