Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach – Santa Barbara, California

Beachfront Dining Santa Barbara

Lobster tacos and Firestone beer was the menu last week for a great, casual oceanfront lunch at The Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach. The Boathouse, formerly the Brown Pelican, is the newest venture of the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company family, which began on Stearn’s Wharf in 1980. It’s a little bit off the beaten path, set on a gorgeous mellow beach. While we ate, we admired a surfer taking a nap on his board 50 ft from shore. What a life!

Santa Barbara Shellfish also owns the FisHouse on Cabrillo.

Hendry Beach is a great place to spend a hot day and play with your dog or have a bbq! There is also a great restaurant right on the beach that is worth checking out. I was just in Santa Barbara and the weather was so perfect, we actually went here and spent many hours playing and enjoying the great beach! We stayed at the South Coast Inn (www.santa-barbara-hotel.com). So elegant and the perfect place to escape the chaos of downtown.

I really love the layout of this website. Helpful and a lot of useful information for California and the Central Coast (the best coast!) Hendry’s Beach is one of the best dog beaches in town, maybe the only one. Great place to hang out and their is an excellent restaurant right there as well. You can also bbq if you rather make a picnic out of the day! Huge waves sometimes there so watch out! Love that this place is super close to the hotel I always stay at-the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). Inexpensive and close to the beach!

How retro Cali this layout of the website is! Very 60s Cali, love and miss it! The new restaurant on the beach vastly surpasses the old one, which has mediocre food, but now it couldn’t be better! On a Sunday morning you can’t get a better brunch! I love going there whenever I am in town staying at the South Coast Inn (www.goleta-hotel.com) close by and one of the nicer places to stay in the area!

Thanks for your nice words about my website. I am a Mod! ;^D My web designer took the colors from a vintage bowling shirt and the graphics from old match books.

    Something to say?
