A robust musical tribute to the USA inspired by the American Spirit of Independence. The Pasadena POPS Orchestra under the direction of Maestra Rachael Worby performs with soloist Cynthia Sikes, and the Los Angeles debut appearance of The 5 Browns, a most talented family of five siblings, all graduates of the famous Julliard School of Music, simultaneously playing five Steinway Grand pianos.
Food
There will be a Barbeque Festival Food Court outside the stadium opening at approximately 11am. There will also be food for sale inside the stadium after the gates open at 6:00 p.m. No outside food or drink is allowed in the stadium. Families are encouraged to picnic or “tailgate” on the grassy area outside the Rose Bowl.
Fireworks
A thirty-minute Fireworks show choreographed and produced by Pyrospectaculars, known throughout the world for extraordinary fireworks displays in New York, Boston, Thailand, and the Philippines, and at Super Bowls and Olympic Games.
Putting Music Back in Pasadena’s Elementary Schools
The 5 Browns’ appearance is being sponsored by VH1 and Save the Music Foundation.
The Rose Bowl Foundation is raising $25,000 through the 4th of July Celebration to be matched dollar for dollar by VH1 Save The Music Foundation (www.vh1savethemusic.com). Funds raised will be used to fully restore instrumental music programs in two Pasadena public schools.
Tribute to Military and Their Families
A special tribute will be given to the men and women in military service in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world and to their families.
The Rose Bowl will host local members of the military and their families at the event.
A military flyover will punctuate the playing of our National Anthem.
