7 New Year’s Resolutions
It’s January 1, 2009. Fresh starts and re-evaluations of goals and dreams. In 2008 I started the year with a dramatic hiking accident and ended it by retiring from my job at AT&T. What will this year hold — it’s very exciting to think about it. But here’s my plan:
More Jazz Singing I’m going to see some of the best jazz artists perform this year — Steve Tyrell at the Cafe Carlyle, Jane Monheit at the Catalina, Harry Connick Jr, Nancy Wilson & Michael Buble. Somebody fantastic at Yoshi’s. And, I’m going to take jazz singing at American River College plus some private lessons.
More Golf I’d like to see Tiger play this year – he’ll be back for the Masters. I was in the gallery when he won the US Open at Pebble Beach by 15 strokes, so perhaps I’m a good luck charm. And I’m going to get on the course and see if I can be a player.
More Money Making I’ll be helping Sacramento businesses with their internet marketing. The internet world offers fantastic opportunity for small business, but it’s confusing. I’ll be the navigator.
More Kisses This is obvious. Everyone needs more kisses.
More Smart Friends I’ve got lots of smart friends, but I’ve lately been getting to know some extremely talented people online at Twitter. I’m going to attend some internet marketing conferences and get to know some of these braniacs in person.
More Travel I’ve already made plans for trips to Maui, Chicago & Las Vegas.
More Fun always, More Fun!

Here’s my progress report.
Jazz – ARC cancelled their jazz choir, but I’m taking private lessons with the divine Shelley Burns. She hosts a jazz camp in the mountains and I’m persuading my sister to go with. And I’ve got tickets to Diana Krall in Santa Barbara which will combine 2 items on my list – jazz and travel.
Smart Friends – there is a lot of action in the marketing community in Sacramento and I’m getting involved. Sharp fun people.
Julie, One of my favorite jazz festivals is here in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor Hotel hosted by Earl Klugh. Being up close and personal to the musicians is heaven.
Other favorites are Diana Krall and Chris Botti ~ haven’t seen them live yet … but working on the creating that reality soon!
Good luck on the rest of your resolutions and thanks for commenting on my blog.

Thanks so much for visiting & commenting on my site.
I’m making progress on my resolutions – I’m singing in a recital on May 15 – Honeysuckle Rose & Frim Fram Sauce. Except for the golf — not even one foot on a course yet — but it’s only April!
