4th of July Parade
Please join us this Fourth of July as we honor the anniversary of our Nation’s Independence Day and the birth of Democracy, with an Old Fashioned Parade and a most Patriotic of Patriotic Rallies. The “Spirit of ’76″ Association and its all-volunteer committee have been presenting this birthday celebration for the past 41 years. This year marks our 41st anniversary date.
The Parade starts at 1 o’clock at the corner of Micheltorena and State St. This grand march continues down State Street toward the Pacific, to end at Cota St. in Santa Barbara’s Historic Old Town.
Have fun, be creative as we celebrate this year’s theme: “Free Enterprise”.
And just at the end of the parade in Santa Barbara’s “Old Town”(the 400 block of State St.), view an extraordinary exhibit of Vintage Military Vehicles, some dating from WWII. The Model T Ford, classic and unique automobiles from private collections and personal, one-of-a-kind vehicles, will also be on display.
Take time to pause and reflect on the values of our Nation’s heritage by atending the “Celebrate America” Patriotic Rally. Chase Palm Park, the jewel of Santa Barbara park, will host the traditional event in the grassy meadow at the pavillion beginning at 3:30 P.M.
Completing your day, on the sands of the Pacific will be a memorable conclusion to America’s 229th Birthday Party. Fireworks! Lots of fireworks.
